FORMULATED FOR HOOPERS

THE PROBLEM WITH GENERIC SUPPLEMENTS

Why HoopFuel Image

Generic supplements are typically formulated for low-to-moderate effort activities. Basketball players experience high sweat rates, frequent explosive movements, and extended periods of play. Additionally, the mental and physical intensity of basketball requires sharper fueling strategies to maintain focus and performance throughout the game - needs that one-size-fits-all products simply don’t meet.

Many generic sports drinks fall short by underdosing key nutrients needed for basketball performance. For instance, most sport hydration products like Gatorade or Powerade provide between 200-400mg of sodium per serving, when basketball players often lose over 1,000mg per hour of hooping (more than double what’s these products contain).

To reduce costs, many brands rely on artificial flavors, excessive added sugars, and low-grade minerals. Refined sugars can impair recovery and promote energy crashes, while poorly absorbed minerals and synthetic additives offer little functional value. For hoopers who need consistent energy, sharp focus, and fast recovery between high-effort bursts, ingredient quality matters.

Proprietary blends obscure the exact amounts of each ingredient, making it impossible for athletes to know if they’re getting effective doses. Studies have found that proprietary blends often underdose key bioactive ingredients, resulting in no measurable improvement in performance metrics such as time to exhaustion, power output, or heart rate.
